Expose & Bond Procedures
In some cases, permanent teeth (often canines) fail to erupt into the mouth on their own. These teeth may become impacted, remaining trapped under the gums or bone.
An expose and bond procedure allows your orthodontist to guide the impacted tooth into its proper position. During the procedure, we gently expose the impacted tooth and bond a small orthodontic bracket to it. This bracket is then connected to the orthodontic archwire, allowing your orthodontist to gradually move the tooth into place.
Expose and bond procedures are common, safe, and play a critical role in achieving full alignment—especially in teen patients.
